Exposed Layers is built as a layered system, not a collection of isolated parts. Each collaborator contributes to a shared foundation that unfolds over time, adding depth rather than division.
The first phase establishes the core, a physical garment anchored in materiality, supported by digital touchpoints that extend its life and meaning. Elements such as authentication, care, provenance, and augmented interaction form the initial structure. These are not separate experiences, but a single, integrated foundation designed to exist comfortably in real life.
As the project progresses, additional contributors expand what is already in place. Phase two introduces interactivity and playability, allowing the garment to move beyond static form and into responsive, immersive environments. These additions do not replace the original piece. They build on it, translating the same identity into new modes of expression.
Future phases will open the system further. Collaboration, participation, and reinterpretation become central, inviting new creators, platforms, and communities to engage with the existing layers. Each phase adds capability, context, and possibility, while remaining connected to the original garment.
Exposed Layers grows by accumulation, not fragmentation. What is added is always in dialogue with what came before.
